Apple Notes
The built-in place for quick thoughts, scanned documents, and connected reference notes.
Features depend on the macOS version, account type and hardware. This profile follows the current Mac guide; it does not treat the iPhone and Mac feature sets as identical.
Makers
Notes ships as part of Apple’s operating systems and receives features through system updates. Apple publishes platform-specific guides rather than a separate Mac app release cycle.
Why consider it
Start with what is already there
Quick Note captures something without setting up a separate service. iCloud keeps supported notes available on your other Apple devices.
Keep source material beside your writing
Attach scans, images and PDFs, then read and mark up supported documents within a note. It suits everyday reference material as well as short text.
Connect and organize
Note links, tags and Smart Folders help revisit related material. Shared iCloud notes provide collaboration without buying another notes subscription.
